WinSCP is a free tool for Windows that allows you to upload files to your web server. To download, configure and upload files to your website simply follow these steps:
Here are the steps for connecting and uploading:
- Download WinSCP from https://winscp.net
- Run the installation program.
- Choose the Typical Installation Option when prompted
- Choose the Explorer Option when prompted
- Open the program
- In the Login Screen that appears
- Change file protocol to SCP or SFTP
- Set the host name to server0.exodios.net or server1.exodios.net
If you are uncertain which server to use, do not hesitate to contact us. - Set the username to the username that you have been provided with by Exodios Web Hosting.
If you are uncertain what your username is, do not hesitate to contact us. - Set the password to the password that you have been provided with by Exodios Web Hosting.
If you are uncertain what your password is, do not hesitate to contact us. - Optional: You may want to use the save button to save these settings for future connections.
- Click Login
- If prompted for allowing the connection to an unknown server select yes.
- Navigate to the folder where the files on your website should be stored by pasting the following string into the Address Field at the top of the WinSCP window:
/home/(FTP username)/web/(Your domain name)/public_html - Click and drag the file to be upload to the website into the file list on the right hand side of the WinSCP window.
